Deadline: January 2, 2020, h13:00 UTC+1.
Application is fully online.
Knowledge of Italian is not required at start.
The selection will include a round of interviews that can be given form remote.
Teaching duties will be negotiated with the Physics Department.
The position is renewable for a further two years, subject to availability of funding and to the approval by the Physics Department.
The researcher will join the Virgo group at Trento and will be devoting most of the research time to data analysis science applied to LIGO-Virgo-Kagra observations for searches and investigations of transient gravitational wave signals. As you may know, in this field we are mainly active to search and investigate unmodeled or loosely modeled signals and signal features, at various latency scales. An involvement on detector characterization of Virgo will be very welcome.
All interested: please do not hesitate to contact me or any other member of the Padova-Trento Virgo group for further information. The selection committee will be formed in January 2020 and will short-list 3 candidates presumably by end of April 2020. The Physics Department will then perform another round of interviews of the short-listed candidates and select the winner in a few weeks time. Starting date can be negotiated. Staff members of the Virgo group at the University of Trento are Giovanni Prodi, Albino Perego, Antonio Perreca. The position is co-funded by INFN.
