Institute for Cosmic Ray Research (ICRR), The University of Tokyo, Japan,
invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position.
1. Position: Postdoctoral fellow, 1 person.
2. Job description:
We are looking for a researcher who can contribute to the data analysis of gravitational
wave detectors targeting compact binary coalescences, and can contribute to the
interpretation of the analysis results. He or she is expected to become a member of
KAGRA Collaboration and to work on the data analysis of the KAGRA detector.
This position is funded by the research project, "Physics and Astrophysics with
gravitational waves from Binary Neutron Star Coalescences, Black Hole Neutron Star
Coalescences, Pulsars and Magnetars"(PI: Hideyuki Tagoshi) in the Grand-in-Aid for
New Innovative Area on "Gravitational wave physics and astronomy: Genesis".
3. Place of work:
Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, The University of Tokyo (Kashiwa-city, Chiba-prefecture, Japan)
4. Start of the term: As soon as possible after an offer is made.
5. Application Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a related field by the time of employment.
She/he needs to have sufficient English language proficiency to take part in
scientific/technical discussions in face-to-face meetings, video conferences and
teleconferences.
6. Term: Three years.
7. Compensation:
Salary will be 330,000 JPY per month. The successful applicant will be enrolled in
health insurance through the MEXT Mutual Aid Association and will receive a
commuting allowance.

Applicants will be screened on the basis of their application materials and candidates
